Venture beyond the ruins of Rome and the beaches of the Amalfi Coast, and you’ll discover an entirely new side of Italy. Situated between the foothills of the Alps and the River Po, the sprawling metropolis of Milan is recognized as Italy’s financial hub and one of the world’s fashion capitals. Glass skyscrapers share the skyline with intricate Gothic spires, shops and restaurants are nestled among 15th-century canals, and contemporary art museums overlook cobblestoned piazzas.
